Men's Briefs Underwear

Men’s briefs are the most worn underwear style in the world. And yet they are the most poorly made. The majority of manufacturers use a flat-front pattern. This template has been used for decades, with no consideration for the male anatomy. We differ by using a three-panel contour pouch that gives you forward projection and natural positioning without compression.

How Our Men’s Briefs Are Different

Men’s Briefs With Actual Pouch Engineering

The pouch is the most important part of a brief. Ours is die-cut as a separate panel. Shaped to male anatomy, ours is not folded from the front like other brands do. Ours creates a three- dimensional space shaped to male anatomy. We sew it with flatlock seams on every interior joint so nothing rubs against your inner thigh. The waistband is 50mm woven elastic, the same type we use on our jockstraps and long johns. It sits flat, doesn’t curl, and the sublimation branding won’t peel after washing.

Briefs in Microfiber, Cotton-Blend, and Pima Cotton

Our microfiber briefs (82% nylon, 18% spandex, 160-200 GSM) are the daily-wear option. They are quick-drying, 4-way stretch and invisible under dress pants. The cotton-blend version (90% cotton, 10% elastane) breathes well for men who prefer natural fibers. The Pima cotton brief uses 95% Peruvian Pima, 5% lycra 35% longer fibers than standard cotton. This means less pilling and a softer hand feel that lasts. Each fabric gets the same construction: contour pouch, flatlock seams and woven waistband. Want more coverage than a brief? Check our boxer briefs. Want less? Our bikini underwear and thongs use the same pouch pattern in lower-rise cuts.

Sizing Men’s Briefs How Negative-Ease Cutting Affects Fit

Our briefs use negative-ease patterns. The fabric is cut 5-10% smaller than your body measurements. This allows the stretch to conform to your shape. This is why they feel snug out of the package and fit perfectly within minutes. Measure your waist about 5 inches below the belly button (not at your natural waist). If you’re between sizes, go with your normal size (the stretch accommodates for that). For a more relaxed feel, explore our boyshorts that offer similar support with a looser leg opening.

Common Questions About Men’s Briefs

Are boxers or briefs better for men? As the expression goes, “different tools for different jobs.” Briefs provide support and stay in place during movement, no bunching, no riding up. Boxers on the other hand are loose and breathable. But offer zero support and bunch under fitted clothes. If you want the coverage of boxers with the support of briefs, our boxer briefs split  the difference. For daily wear, a well-made brief with a contour pouch is the most functional option.

What are the best briefs for men? Look for three things. 1) A separate-cut contour pouch (not a flat-front fold) 2) Flatlock seams on the inner leg (no ridge to chafe), 3) A woven elastic waistband (won’t curl or crack). The fabric is matter of personal preference. Microfiber for moisture-wicking, cotton-blend for breathability, Pima cotton for softness. It is best to avoid briefs where the composition isn’t listed. If they won’t tell you what it’s made of, there’s a reason for that.

How should men’s briefs fit? Snug but not compressive. You should feel the fabric against your skin without it digging in anywhere. The waistband should stay flat without rolling. The leg openings should sit in the crease where your thigh meets your hip and not higher (that’s a bikini cut) and not lower (that’s too big). If you see the pouch sagging by midday, size down.
