Akaka Falls – Hawaii

Akaka Falls is a 442-foot waterfall that lies on the Big Island of Hawaii. Staring at it, in addition to hiking through Akaka Falls State Park, is simply mesmerizing. It is consistently rated as one of the best waterfalls in all of Hawaii and even boasts a zipline! So for all you adventurers out there, be sure to book an ecotour that includes you zipping high above the famous Akaka Falls. For those a little weary of heights, there are still plenty of observation decks near the falls that will allow you to take a great photo.

Mývatn Nature Baths – Iceland

Iceland’s tourism industry is booming, meaning there’s no better time to go. Flights are cheap and you’re guaranteed to meet other travelers! While Iceland doesn’t exactly have the same climate as the Caribbean, it makes for up it with its natural hot springs. Visitors will find natural hot pools all over the island. Of course the most famous is Blue Lagoon, however if you want to do something a little off the beaten track, we recommend Mývatn Nature Baths. It is located in the north of the island, roughly 5.5 hours from Reykjavik and boasts the same bright blue water as the Blue Lagoon but is far less touristy.

Poas Volcano – Costa Rica

Less than an hour and a half outside of San Jose lies Poas Volcano National Park. Home to the largest active crater in the world, Poas Volcano National Park is a great place to go for a short hike and enjoy a photo op at the observation deck in front of Poas Volcano. The electric blue waters of the crater are sure to make for a stunning backdrop. Meanwhile, you can spend the rest of your vacation taking in Costa Rica’s incredible beaches and enviable coffee culture.

Grand Cenote – Tulum, Mexico

Mexico is known for their breathtaking cenotes, otherwise known as a pit that results from the collapsing of limestone. Lucky for us, these “pits” are actually incredibly beautiful, boasting crystal clear blue waters and unique caves. As such, they have become a popular spot for tourists to visit and go swimming, snorkelling, or scuba diving. Grand Cenote in the ancient city of Tulum, Mexico is one of the most beautiful spots in the entire country. After your swim or dive, you can visit the ancient Mayan temples that also lie in the area.

Smathers Beach – Key West, Florida

The largest, most scenic beach in all of Key West, Smathers Beach is a great place to relax and have a drink. The beach stretches half a mile and is littered with palm trees. It also has a variety of amenities like volleyball courts, jet ski rentals, restrooms, and shower facilities. A hub of activity year round, Smathers Beach, and Key West in general, is an excellent alternative to the touristy Spring Break scene of South Beach.

These destinations are all on our bucket list! We also know that we’ll be packing our favorite Oceanico swimtrunk. Here’s to an awesome Spring Break!
